There are so many love songs that it’s hard to choose the best ones of all time, but here is a small list of some of the best, and my reasoning for choosing those songs.
Unchained Melody by Righteous Brothers
This songs gets you from the very first syllable. The first syllable is “wo” which is nothing special, but you immediately feel the passion and emotion in this song.
This is one of the best love songs of all time because its perspective on love is rich in that throughout the song, different emotions are expressed and experienced. There is everything from longing to melancholy to hope to joy.
The singers are tremendous vocalists. They are able to create and transmit all those feelings with just their voices. Bravo!
Moon River by Audrey Hepburn
This may not be a love song in the most direct way where we expect people to fall in love. This is a love song to one’s own sense of wander. But it’s often viewed as a love song because it’s from a romantic movie, so this masterpiece makes our list of best love songs of all time because it’s one of the best tunes overall.
Candle In The Wind by Sir Elton John
The original version was amazing, but the tribute to Lady Diana is otherworldly. The lyric changes enhance the song. It’s as though the original creators of this song had time to think about it, and made it much better the second time around.
